Matching Process to Part Requirements
Aluminum casting is not a single technique but a family of processes, each with distinct advantages in terms of precision, volume, cost, and part complexity. A proficient custom cast aluminum factory typically develops deep expertise in one or two primary methods, allowing it to optimize its equipment, tooling, and engineering skills. The choice of process is fundamental to achieving the desired balance of quality, economics, and design freedom for a custom part.
High-Pressure Die Casting (HPDC)
This process is a cornerstone for high-volume production. It excels at producing thin-walled, complex parts with excellent dimensional consistency and smooth surface finishes at very fast cycle times.
